At Epiroc USA LLC, our Mining and Rock Excavation Service Division provides a broad range of services with the aim of maximizing customers' productivity. We focus on spare parts supply, professional service, support solutions and training. The primary location for this role is Tucson, AZ but the successful candidate will need to travel when required.

As a Technology & Automation Specialist, you will hold a pivotal role in delivering prompt service support for complex technical issues. Your responsibilities will encompass monitoring, testing, and conducting demonstrations aimed at minimizing downtime, lowering costs, and showcasing the capabilities of our products. In this role, you will be the go-to source for customer guidance, adeptly troubleshooting, repairing, and installing components to ensure the smooth operation of equipment and systems. This role requires a high level of specialized expertise and skill, with an unwavering commitment to maintaining rigorous standards of quality and precision.

The work environment includes being regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and outdoor weather conditions. Noise protection is required in this role. Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support for troubleshooting, both remotely and on-site, related to technology, automation, and RCS
  • Offer support to local Epiroc facilities in matters concerning technology and automation
  • Assist customers in situations involving technology and automation
  • Collaborate with ADS, URE, and SED capital equipment sales teams to promote sales
  • Supply parts information via suggested stocking guides
  • Offer warranty support, including evaluating and validating claims, discussing issues with the Product Company, and submitting service reports
  • Work in partnership with Product Companies for the development of new and existing technology
  • Set up and monitor new technology packages offered by Epiroc
  • Compile data gained from technology to enhance Epiroc's position in technology
  • Effectively oversee multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, requiring technical expertise and analytical problem-solving
  • Customize and offer solutions to address customer-specific issues
  • Successfully completed Epiroc automation training
  • Successfully completed Epiroc RCS Basic and Advanced training
  • Participate in technology forums related to Epiroc ADS, URE, and SED machines
  • Communicate service activities and opportunities to the Customer and Service Manager through detailed reports, forms, email, and telephone communication
  • Always maintain a courteous and professional demeanor and communication with customers and internal staff


Requirements:

  • Minimum of a Certificate of Completion from a Technical or Trade School, three years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Maintain required US Department of Labor, Mine, Safety & Health Administration Training Certificates, or agree to complete the necessary training program(s) to acquire the Training Certificates
  • Possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record
  • If required to operate a commercial vehicle weighing more than 26,001 pounds, you must be able to meet all requirements necessary to obtain a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) for Department of Transportation (DOT) purposes
  • Demonstrated strong mechanical aptitude and a strong work ethic from previous work experience
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods as necessary, utilize hands for tactile tasks, extend arms and hands, and engage in verbal communication and listening
  • Extensive travel required, including national and some international travel
