Position Highlights Please Note: The number of openings has changed from 1 to 2. The R. Ken Coit College of Pharmacy, Pharmacology and Toxicology Department seeks a Research Technician for the lab of Dr. Xinglong Wang. The Wang lab focuses on Alzheimer's disease research. The successful candidate will assist with setting up experiments, recording data, ordering supplies, and operating scientific equipment.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with lab staff and graduate students on a variety of translational research projects. Set up experiments, record results, analyze data, and interpret test results.
  • Assist with the maintenance of mouse models for neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.
  • Clean, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot scientific equipment. Orders and maintains necessary lab supplies for experiments.
  • Performs protein isolation and purification under general supervision.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent, or equivalent learning attained through experience required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Preferred QualificationsBachelor's degree in medical, biology, chemistry, or related field.
