Your responsibilities

  • Performs complex operations, record keeping, assist customer interaction, assist quotations, rewinding, repairing, reassembling and testing large-sized DC armatures, AC stators and rotors, etc. with minimal supervision. Able to work independently and meet delivery criteria and timetables.
  • Performs complex operations such as rewinding, repairing, reassembling and testing large-sizedDC armatures, AC stators and rotors, etc.
  • Progress updates/reporting to Specialists, Sr. Mgr.
  • Performs related duties as assigned such as assisting on the larger or more complicated units.
  • May dismantle and repair commutators and collector rings as well as to band rotating equipment.
  • May be required to work overtime, various shifts, holidays and weekends.* Must be able to travel to job Sites (>10% actual).
Your background

  • Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 10 Years experience winding AC and/or DC armatures from 200 HP to 5,000 HP +.
  • Able to read and interpret winding connection drawings.
  • Experience winding field coils.
  • Good Mechanical skills.
  • Able to travel and complete overnight stays.
  • Quality oriented.
  • Self-starter able to work with minimal direction.
  • Present ABB workmanship and daily communication to the customer in a professional way.
  • ABB will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States for this opening.
  • Desired Characteristics
  • Hydro-Electric experience highly desirable
  • Experience with Health and Safety programs including: LOTO, Electrical Safety, PPE.
  • Mining and/or Industrial experience.
