Your responsibilities

  • Essential responsibilities are to service wheelmotors and/or wheelmotor related equipment in accordance with repair specifications. This scope includes electric motors, gear set maintenance/replacement, diagnostics, troubleshooting.
  • Essential Responsibilities
  • Disassembly, cleaning, repair, inspection, reassembly, and test of electric motors.
  • Complete inspection and test reports for electric motors
  • Complete assessment of alternators, electric motors or wheelmotors
  • Assess, replace or repair gears, shafts, cases and seals
  • Familiar with the scope and limitations of the repair procedures for wheelmotors
  • Work with safety focus, including LOTO, handoff reporting, and final inspection
Your background

  • Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Trade School or high school diploma/GED and 5 years minimum experience in manufacturing or equipment service industry
  • Able to read and interpret electrical drawings or mechanical prints.
  • Able to use calibrated equipment
  • Able to work required overtime, various shifts, overnight stays, holidays and weekends
  • Ability to travel to job sites, including nuclear sites, on short notice. Work may be up to 25% onsite.
  • Possesses the fundamental understanding of a Safety and Quality based culture and performs accordingly
  • Must be able to perform heavy mechanical work safely and efficiently
  • Possess the fundamental understanding of a Safety and Quality based culture and performs accordingly
  • Strong communication skills with customers
  • Strong Electrical and Mechanical skills a must
  • Must be able to acquire and hold required permits and certifications
  • Must be able to certify for solder and braze operations within time limits
  • Self-starter able to work with or without leader, a team player under minimal direct supervision

  • Desired Characteristics:
  • Experience doing mining, field and test work
  • Experience with GE/Komatsu wheelmotors
  • Vibration and alignment analysis a plus
