Job Description - Student Intern, Rates Administration

What you will do

  • Participate in the proper administration of rates for both electric and gas customers
  • Pull data and input into appropriate spreadsheets
  • Review data for mistakes and oddities
  • Assist in technical testing of business application upgrade
  • Rate case support

Position Description

Tucson Electric Power, one of Arizona's leading utility companies, seeks an individual for the position of Student Intern in the Rates & Revenue Requirements Department. We are looking for an energetic addition to our team to assist the Rate Implementation team and Pricing Analysts with existing analysis, reporting and other job duties as needed.

Position-Related Responsibilities

  • Assist with monthly, annual, and biannual reporting.
  • Assist with Monthly rate increase into the Customer Care & Billing System.
  • Pricing Tariff development, updating and editing.
  • Assist with preparing regulatory reporting for Pricing.
  • Assist with bill impact preparation and ad-hoc inquiries
  • Conduct research
  • Participate in special projects and implementations
  • Perform administrative assignments as requested

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a degree in business, finance, accounting, Management Information Systems, or related discipline with an expected graduation date of 05/2025 or later.
  • Ability to work a minimum of 15-20 hours per week during regular business hours; up to 40 hours a week may be available during the summer and school breaks
  • High level of interpersonal skills and the ability to protect highly sensitive and confidential information; Must be able to meet regular deadlines
  • Demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Possess functional knowledge of Microsoft Office products
  • Be able to work independently as well as in a team environment

Requirements

  • Student Interns must maintain the required hours for full-time student status, good academic standing at their college or university, as defined by the college or university and the GPA required for graduation by their college or university.
  • Failure to maintain full-time status, good academic standing and/or the requisite GPA will result in Student Interns being deemed ineligible for participation in this program.
  • Student Interns are employed on a temporary basis and are generally not eligible for some benefits; including holiday pay.
  • Scheduling of work hours and assignments should be made taking into consideration that Student Interns are students first and employees second.

Pay Rate: $16.00/hour + Depending on year in school
