Responsibilities

Palo Verde Behavioral Health Hospital provides comprehensive behavioral healthcare for children, adolescents, adults, and senior adults suffering from mental health and addictive illnesses. PVBH is an 84 bed, short-term, acute care hospital offering inpatient, partial and intensive outpatient hospitalization, as well as specialized treatment programs for chemical dependency. PVBH has an excellent reputation as an innovative hospital with caring, dedicated staff, experienced in the delivery of behavioral healthcare. Situated in Tucson, AZ, at the base of the Catalina Foothills, PVBH is minutes to Saguaro National Park and the University of Arizona.

The PRN Outpatient Therapist will focus on helping patients learn about their mental health and improve their quality of life. For patients with symptoms of a mental disorder it is especially important to intervene early to be effective. Our therapists will have the opportunity to help patients learn how to cope with the symptoms of mental illness while offering them a safe and confidential outlet to discuss their feelings and experiences with others their same age who are going through similar struggles.


Qualifications

Job Requirements:

Education: Master's degree in social, behavioral or mental health services field from an accredited college or university.

Credentials: Licensure by the Arizona Board of Behavioral Examiners as an LAC, LPC, LMSW, LCSW, LAMFT, LMFT

Experience: Minimum of 2 years' experience in an outpatient environment, preferably in mental health.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITON:

Must be tested for Tuberculosis with a PPD skin test or chest x-ray upon hire; PPD skin test required annually or chest x-ray every 4 years thereafter.

Must obtain and maintain a Class 1 Arizona Fingerprint Clearance
