What you will do

The Warehouse Supervisor will manage all aspects of warehouse operations including shipping, receiving, inventory control and employee supervision; coordinate warehouse activities and ensure smooth operations; determine shipping priorities and work assignments; inspect loading operations, oversee incoming and outgoing shipping activities and plan layouts for storage areas; and, analyze records to identify non-usable and excess stock, schedule inventories and trace item history to resolve discrepancies.

How you will do it

  • Manage warehouse operations, including cycle counts, inventory controls and root cause analysis to solve inventory discrepancies. Schedule and lead special and periodic inventories.

  • Oversee inbound and outbound activities for accuracy and completeness. Determine routing and loading methods. Inspect loading operations to ensure compliance with specifications.

  • Plan layout of stockroom and warehouse considering turnover, size, weight and related factors.

  • Review records for accuracy and recommend actions for non-usable, slow-moving and excess stock.

  • Review shipping notices, invoices, orders and records to determine shipping priorities, work assignments and shipping methods.

  • Advise employees on proper handling, storing and shipping stock. Standardize warehouse procedures to improve efficiency.

  • Operate within budget and contribute to the reduction of overhead and expenses including payroll.

  • Trace history of items to resolve discrepancies between inventory and stock control records.

  • Determine work procedures, prepare schedules and expedite workflow.

  • Prepare shipping, cycle count and inventory control reports.

  • Address customer errors, complaints and concerns.

  • Interview, hire and train new employees on warehouse processes and equipment, ensure all employees receive ongoing training and development and support and develop employees through coaching and mentorship. Assign duties and examine work for accuracy and conformance to policies and procedures.

  • Manage performance, rewards and discipline of employees in partnership with Human Resources for guidance.

  • Act as a servant leader and address employee questions, concerns and resolve problems in a timely manner.

  • Review and approve assigned employee's time in Kronos. Investigate discrepancies or questionable time entries and correct as needed.

  • Act as a change agent and positively influence others during organizational and operational change.

  • Drive a culture of safety ownership and awareness enforcing safety regulations and company policies.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What we look for

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree or a minimum of one (1) year of warehouse, distribution, shipping, receiving and/or materials experience OR an Associate degree and a minimum of one (6) years of warehouse, distribution, shipping, receiving and/or materials experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience working as a Supervisor.

  • Ability to work 1st shift (7:00AM-4:30PM, Monday-Friday) including weekends as needed as well as the ability to work extended hours until 7:30PM if needed.

  • Proficiency using MS Office Suite.

  • Ability to effectively work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.

  • Excellent verbal communications, problem-solving and decision-making skills.

  • Demonstrated practice of adhering to delegation of authority and leading by management's instructions.

  • Successful experience working independently and as part of a team.

  • Must be able to work extended and flexible hours to include weekends as needed.

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of and experience with domestic and international shipping.

  • Experience increasing warehouse productivity through continuous improvement methodology and standardization (i.e. LEAN/5S initiatives).

  • Experience in transportation or logistics.

  • Ability to operate a forklift.
