About the role:
As an IT Architect I, you'll help develop new fintech products that will change the way the world pays, banks and invests. This could involve working with bleeding edge technology while coding, implementing, maintaining and supporting software applications.
Your primary role will be working with distributed systems as part of a production support team for Systematics integration and platform support. You will work closely with your team, clients and internal FIS teams to understand business requirements that drive analysis and design of quality technical solutions ensuring alignment with business and IT strategies and complying with FIS architectural standards

About the team:

This role is under the FIS Distributed Systems support team providing production Support and services for a diverse collection of hosted FIS Solutions.

What you will be doing:

  • Technical SME implementing and supporting FIS API Gateway solutions based on WSO2 APIM, with mediation processing performed using RHEL and WSO2 Micro Integrator or via OCP using Spring boot.
  • Technical SME supporting FIS solutions based on RHEL / WebSphere and Exadata / Oracle.
  • Technical SME supporting FIS solutions based on Windows Server / Tomcat / SQL Server Always On.
  • Work with product development organization to assimilate product release notes and other product related artifacts for application deployments.
  • Development and customization of CI/CD Toolchains and support
  • Finding which tech solution is the best for the solution of current business problems.
  • Post implementation 3rd line support investigations.
  • Design and execute proof of concept (POC) and proof of value (POV) efforts to efficiently test out improvement ideas.
  • Proactively identify, mitigate, and resolve technical risks and issues.
  • Proactively report status of all in progress initiatives.
  • Interface with stakeholders at several levels, from executive management to technical staff
  • Any other Solution Architecture related duties as required.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of at least one substantive area of compliance, such as banking regulations, anti-money laundering, or anti-corruption

  • Ability to understand technical documents and legal or regulatory reference materials

  • Demonstrated ability to plan and complete work within tight time limitations
  • Ability to apply creative problem solving techniques and tools to compliance issues

  • Ability to provide information to a variety of audiences and deal effectively with confidential issues that are sensitive in nature
  • Ability to share information with awareness of its effect on others
  • Ability to help develop and mentor other members of the team in order to strength the team
  • Ability to gather functional and non-functional requirements for new pieces of work.
  • Ability to produce documentation, designs (using, but not limited to, tooling like Visio, Draw.IO, Whiteboarding) and design decisions (showing pros and cons) for discussion.
  • Ability to guide and extract any information that you feel is also required, that hasn't been imparted. - - As an SME with experience in architecting solutions, you will have good knowledge of what these would be. As thinking about future impact when architecting solution, to ensure it can scale with minimal disruption to service.
  • Knowledge of working with the Azure Well-Architected Framework (WAF) would be an advantage.

What you will need:

  • Demonstrated experience as Cloud Architect, Solution Architect, System Designer or Technical Lead.
  • Three or more years working in a distributed and heterogeneous computing environment (ZOS, UNIX, Windows)
  • Three or more years working with WebSphere and Tomcat.
  • Three or more years demonstrated experience in working with relational (and/or hierarchical) databases (Oracle, MS SQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB etc.)
  • Experience in working with Azure Networking services.
  • Experience in working with OpenShift Container Platform services.
  • Three or more years demonstrated experience in modern software application technologies.
  • Experience in the design and implementation of robust and scalable infrastructure architectures.
  • Experience of working with tooling including: Bitbucket, Jira, Git, Artifactory, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible, Prometheus, Postman, SoapUI, Splunk, AppDynamics, Dynatrace, Tivoli/Smart Cloud.
  • Experience working with Terraform Enterprise and Kubernetes (preferably Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)).
  • Experience with High Availability and Disaster Recovery process and testing.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills to technical and non-technical audiences of various levels in the organization.
  • Excellent analytical, decision-making, problem-solving and time management skills
  • Ability to persuade and influence others on the best approach to take.

FIS is committed to providing its employees with an exciting career opportunity and competitive compensation. The pay range for this full-time position is $94,560.00 - $158,870.00 and reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position based on the posted role, level, and location. Within the range, actual individual starting pay is determined additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Any changes in work location will also impact actual individual starting pay. Please consult with your recruiter about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
