Position Highlights

The Lunar and Planetary Laboratory is seeking a researcher to work with Dr. Kristopher Klein's lab. The Researcher will extend established multi-spacecraft analysis techniques, improving methods that will be applied to the data drawn from future spatially distributed observatories. They will also assist in applying these methods to synthetic spacecraft time series to constrain observatory temporal and spatial requirements for future missions. The Researcher will also quantify error and uncertainty in the developed methods, and provide documentation suitable for others to independently replicate the work.

Position is temporary for 3 months.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • With guidance by the PI, extend established multi-spacecraft analysis techniques, improving methods that will be applied to the data drawn from future spatially distributed observatories. Apply Developed Techniques to Numerical Simulations of Turbulence. Quantify accuracy and uncertainty of developed techniques.
  • Conduct original research and prepare scientific publications for peer-review related to Multi-spacecraft Analysis Techniques.
  • Participate in remote and in-person team meetings, present results at conferences, and prepare original scientific research manuscripts.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Science, Applied Mathematics or related field.
  • 1 year of relevant work experience with multi-spacecraft analysis techniques.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Applied Mathematics
