The College of Health Sciences at the University of Arizona invites applications for a full-time, career track faculty position in the Physical Therapy program. We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual who will contribute to the development of a dynamic academic environment. The successful candidate will join a team of committed educators in preparing the next generation of Physical Therapists (PTs) for excellence in clinical practice.

The successful candidate will fulfill the responsibilities of a faculty member in an appropriate department, actively participate in teaching, clinical service and/or scholarly work, and must qualify for an appointment at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor.

The developing Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program at the University of Arizona is seeking applications for full time core faculty members to join our dynamic and growing team of faculty. The successful applicants will work closely with the ongoing development of the DPT program to include curriculum, accreditation and then implementation of the program. Faculty appointments include teaching, scholarship and service in accordance with the University, CAPTE requirements and the DPT program mission. The individuals selected will be responsible for the development of DPT curriculum areas related to their expertise, development of active learning opportunities, and coordinating with the Program Director and Director of Clinical Education to ensure appropriate learning to meet the mission of the program.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Development of curriculum and teaching in assigned areas of expertise.
  • Working in a module team and as a module director where appropriate.
  • Teaching will include development and implementation of service learning opportunities, inter-professional experiences and active learning techniques.
  • Faculty are expected to maintain contemporary expertise in their subject areas.
  • In co-ordination with the DPT program director appropriate service to the program, University and the profession to include student and where applicable faculty mentoring.
  • Development or ongoing pursuit of scholarly agenda reflecting contribution to the profession and where appropriate including students.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Doctoral Degree - DPT; or Academic Terminal Degree.
    • If you do not have an academic doctoral degree such as PhD, EdD, DSC etc., a DPT is required.
  • Licensed PT in the state of Arizona or upon start date.
  • Minimum of 3-4 years clinical experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified clinical specialist in Cardiopulmonary, Neurology, Pelvic health preferred or clinical experience in acute or rural care setting.
  • Teaching experience in a Physical Therapy program or related healthcare discipline.
