Senior Network Engineer - Scottsdale, AZ

Scottrade, Inc. has a Senior Network Engineer position available in Scottsdale, AZ. The main purpose of this position is to function as a senior member of the organization’s top technical advisors within network engineering while supporting Scottrade, Inc. Helping to lead the computer network in highly technical network design projects and troubleshooting procedures; provides technical guidance for computer networks at the enterprise level. Conducts studies analyzing network services requirements, perform a cost analysis and identify alternative designs/ approaches to ensure the needs of Network Services are met. Submit network connectivity specifications and offer recommendations based on the study results and prepare reports for presentation to Network Services. Assist with complex client integration projects including equipment ordering and vendor negotiations, testing, troubleshooting, installation, and implementation of upgrades or configurations.

Responsibilities:

• Develops solution options, project plans, problem resolutions and budget projections based on customer needs, as it pertains to network engineering
• Establishes; Configuration Controls/toosl, Quality Controls and standards, procedures and guidelines for design, development, testing, implementation and maintenance of enterprise solutions
• Participates with Enterprise Architecture and Management personnel in planning, direction, and coordinating operational and/or procedural matters to meet goals and objectives
• Support Level I & II network Engineers. This includes assigning tasks, providing on the job training as needed
• the planning of new network connections (including new buildings, new telecommunications closets and departmental connections)
• Liaison with other departments and organizations. This would include issues involving proper system use, special requirements, and/or training needs.
• Monitor and maintain equipment to insure non-interruption of service. Report any performance issues to the Network Engineering Manager, or Sr. IT Management
• The design, maintenance, and upgrade of existing remote connectivity (including modem bank, wide area links and broadband connectivity)
• The management of billing issues for accuracy in charges and codes and will include creation and tracking of purchase orders
• Lead network updates and changes during Maint outage windows
• Troubleshoot network problems. Repairs, reconfigures and tests equipment as needed. Installs and maintains computer network communications devices (modems, routers, switches).

Experience:

• Minimum 7 years of IT experience.
• Minimum 5 years experience within Networking.

Education:

• Bachelor’s Degree in MIS/Computer Science or equivalent experience is preferred.
